On May 28th, CRJE (EAST AFRICA) LTD. signed the phase-I contract of Uganda National Archives with Uganda Public Affairs Ministry, and the total value is $7.96 million. As the first project contracted out of Tanzania, it is the milestone of CRJE’s history, and will greatly encourage all staff’s confidence and determination of opening up a broader market in Africa.
This project is located in the center of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. With a total floor area of 8000m2, it is composed of a one-storey office building, a 4-storey archives building, and some other supporting outdoor facilities. And the construction period is planned for 65 weeks.
In recent years, substantial petroleum resources have been found in Uganda, and the economy there has developed rapidly. Besides, its construction industry also has a promising prospect. Works under construction there now mainly refer to the renovation and rebuilding of existing public facilities, such as schools, hospitals, office buildings of the government or commercial agencies, etc. And based on the financial support from petroleum, some infrastructure construction, e.g. roads, railways and water projects, will also be launched in the near future.
Since entering into the Uganda market in 2012, CRJE (EAST AFRICA) LTD. has actively implemented the strategy “strengthen the traditional market, expand to the surrounding market, form the regional market and explore the overseas market”. And after winning this bidding, it regarded it as the key project, and arranged employees, machines and materials on site as soon as possible, thus getting ready for seizing larger market there.
