Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, short for Jingguang High-speed Railway, has been in full operation since December 26, 2012.
As an important north-south high-speed railway line of China, Jingguang High-speed Railway runs from Beijing to Guangzhou, with a total length of 2298km. It goes through many cities, such as Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan and Changsha, and the speed is designed to be 350km/h. However, during the early period, CRH high-speed trains are put into use with the speed of 300km/h.
As the departure station of Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and also the window of China’s capital, Beijing West Railway Station is of great significance. And Beijing Company of CRCEG undertook its renovation this time, including that of the main building, the platforms, the channel specialized for Beijing-Shijiazhuang Passenger Line etc. From October 8th, 2012, all construction work was conducted without interfering with the normal operation of this station. Confronting such problems as the tight schedule, the complex construction environment and the high pressure from safety management, Beijing Company continuously optimized the construction scheme, implemented strictly the measures of management and control, and allocated over one thousand workers to fight against coldness and catch up with the progress. Finally, the renovation project was finished as scheduled on December 20th, 2012.
Beijing Railway Administration extended their congratulations, speaking highly of CRCEG’s high-quality and high-efficiency for the renovation project of Beijing West Railway Station, and promising to cooperate with CRCEG in the construction of China’s comprehensive transportation system in the future.
